General description

Thames Young Mariners is situated in Ham, Richmond. It is a sizeable lake that is directly connected to the Thames with the only thing separating the two being the lock gates. The lake’s main function is as an outdoor activity center. There are various different forms of water craft that are practised on the lake, usually involving children so our access to this venue is very strict and also limited. We are provided with a set of days we are allowed to fish at the beginning of the month which is communicated via our website. Usually most nights are open for fishing with the day times being limited.

The lake is naturally stocked by the Thames. It is a bit of a mystery box water. You can expect to catch anything from Carp, Flounders, Mullet, Trout, Zander, Grass Carp, Pike, Perch, Bream. If it swims, it is probably in there! Carp have recently been out at 28.5lb but have passed the 30lb mark in the past. Near record Zander of 17lb. There are also some very large Bream present also.

This Venue is open all year round with no close season.

This venue is strictly members only and non fishing guest passes are not valid on this water. It is a gated complex which requires a code for access which is given when you book.
